The Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Johannesburg Surgical Hospital (JSH) plays a vital role in supporting registered nurses and healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care to critically ill patients. The incumbent will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care in accordance with hospital policies, clinical standards, and best practice guidelines.

Requirements

Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
Updated Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Strong understanding of nursing principles and patient care protocols
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure critical care environment
Demonstrated knowledge of patient care procedures, medical terminology, and infection prevention and control practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize patient needs
Compassionate, empathetic, and patient-centred approach to care
Ability to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and overtime when required
